Ulinzi Stars eye AFC Leopards scalp

Ulinzi Stars are not taking the match against AFC Leopards lightly and have vowed to turn tables on the former league champions on Saturday in their return match at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

Ulinzi Stars have kept their title ambitions burning and a win will improve their morale and put them at par with the leaders and former champions Gor Mahia.
The soldiers are placed fourth with 27 points from 17 matches, while Gor are at the top with 35 points with a match less.
The team have intensified their training and a victory against ‘Ingwe’ will be help in their title ambitions.
Ulinzi deputy coach, Sammy Simiyu, knows only too well that the match will be tough, but says Leopards are not unbeatable although they (Leopards) are also in a winning streak.
“Although Ingwe are a big team, they should know we are equally good and they are not indomitable. We have beaten them in the past although they humiliated us in the first leg clash. This time round we are going to pluck out their claws,” he warned.
Simiyu said they have to avenge their first leg defeat at Mumias Sports Complex by picking maximum points on Saturday.
AFC Leopards won the first leg clash from a solitary goal by striker Charles Okwemba.
Ulinzi Stars were supposed to face Karuturi Sports this afternoon at ‘Old Trafford’ Stadium in Naivasha but the Kenya Premier League has pushed back the match by two weeks.
“Playing AFC Leopards is a great match and our players are well aware of the task ahead of them and the demands that goes with it. We are not taking any chances,” he said.
Ulinzi Stars made a strong comeback from World Military Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, by winning all their two matches against Chemelil Sugar and Nairobi City Stars, each falling by a solitary goal.
